Question: i have anovulatory cycles . I am 40 now. i get very scanty periods nearly after 45 days. but i get severe problems like stuffy nose, bloated feeling, pain in the knees and of late feeling dizziness extremely. kindly help.

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, There are many reasons for irregular periods and even if there are chances of premenopausal symptoms which you have to consider. As you are suffering from certain associated symptoms like feeling of bloating, pain in knees, and feeling of dizziness are sometimes more common. As part of general checkup, it is better to undergo complete gynaecological evaluation to rule out all other associated gynaecological problems. You can be on proper balanced diet and avoid causative factors if any. In order to regularize such problems you Evanova and Abhraloha are indicated medicines which you can consume if your doctor says it is premenopausal symptoms. With regards, Dr. Vijay.
Question: I am 52 years female. So far I was not suffering from any disease or taking medication for any ailment. But for the last 2 years I noticed severe hair fall. Consulted and also taking treatment from the renowned Doctor. Since there was no signs of improvement with their homeopathic medicine I was asked to get a Blood Test done. On getting the blood test my Vitamin B12 showed 158.5 pg/ml which is below the normal range. Hence I request you to kindly suggest treatment for the deficiency of B.12 with Ayurvedic medicine, diet and yogasanas. I would also like to mention that I correctly practice pranayama and yogasans watching Ramdev Baba on TV. With your prescription and treatment, will I be completed treated with the above deficiency?

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello Madam, As you mentioned in detail about your vitamin B12 deficiency, considering your age, I do suspect the same along with vitamin D 3 deficiency which you need to cross check. As you do not have past history of any health issues, it is good that you can correct these existing problems easily. Overall, I feel that there could be vitamin D3 deficiency and slight changes in hormones as few women tend to suffer from premenopausal syndrome even earlier. In your case, to enhance and stimulate endocrine system and to get rejuvenating effect, you may start practicing yoga and pranayama along with ayurvedic medicines which are important. Even lifestyle wise you may need to avoid strenuous works and try to maintain physical activities only for fitness purpose and you may also practice Pranayama are meditation. You may start doing yogasanas like, Tadasana, Hastapadasana, Trikonasana, Baddakonasana which are helpful. You may start having following medicines Evanova and Abhraloha which are helpful and the dosage would be one tablet twice daily after food. You may continue having green leafy vegetables and vegetables in excess in your diet and try to avoid spicy foods, and oily foods.
Question: Dear Sir, I am suffering from excessive sweating which has started causing burning rashes in the lower portion. It feels like the skin is peeling off along with clothes. I am 55 yrs old female and overweight. Feel hot all the time. Have a weakness for sweet and curd. Have neural pain in the lower body. Please help.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Excessive sweating as with your age suggests the symptoms of perimenopause. The skin problems arise when the skin is affected due to the lower levels of harmone like oestrogen and progesterone. Some of them experience excessive sweating, hot flushes, tiredness and depressed mood changes. When the pitta dosha is more, it causes rashes and burning sensation in the skin. Ayurvedic medicines that reduce Pitta will be beneficial to reduce the rashes also. Medicines like Guduci padmakadi kwath -15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Evanova capsules and Drakshaavaleha can be taken for a month and reviewed. Include fenu greek, cucumber, bottle gourd, turmeric, gooseberry, cinnamon, bitter gourd, and drum stick. Reduce excess caffeine, dairy products, salt, refined flour, oil, sugar and carbonated beverages. Yogasanas, exercise, drinking enough water, regular bowel movements, good sleep and pranyamam like sheetali, shitkari and bhramari will be beneficial.
Question: Hello. I'm a 49 year old woman experiencing perimenopausal symptoms for over a year now. I suffer from Hashimoto's thyroiditis and I have been taking euthyrox 100 for several years. Is it safe to start taking shatavari to help me deal with perimenopausal symptoms (hot flashes, mood changes, irritability, thinning hair and dry skin)? If I ask my doctor I know he would suggest a hormone replacement therapy but I prefer to pursue an alternative/ayurvedic treatment. Thank you in advance.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Hashimoto’s thyroid is due to the inflammation of the thyroid gland and leads to hypothyroidism. It is an autoimmune disorder. So you have to continue with your medicine. Menopause symptoms happen due to the changes in the harmone levels. You can take Satavari lehyam - 1tsp before food twice daily and Evanova Capsules for Menopause. There is no problem in taking the two together. Eat healthy food with more vegetables and fruits. Oestrogen rich foods like soya products, flax seeds helps. Calcium rich food like milk and dairy products, fish,, broccoli, and legumes are good to have after menopause. Include fiber such as whole-grain breads, cereals, brown rice. Reduce fried fatty sugary foods and salt. Drink enough water. Keep your weight under control. Do exercise regularly as you tend to gain weight during menopause. Dr.Ramani.

Question: Hello! My mom 50 years, against the backdrop of the climax there is a water retention in the body, huge swelling under the eyes, sometimes become swollen hands. Not poskažete than you can help in this case? >

Answered by Dr.Jilsy : Hello, Thanks for the inquiry. Menopause is the time in a woman's life when her periods eventually stop and the body goes through changes that no longer allow her to get pregnant. It normally occurs in age 45-55. Hormonal changes in the body during menopause can cause fluid retention in the body especially in the subcutaneous tissues under the eyes causing it to swell. Your mom can take medicines such as- 1. Divya Strirasayana vati- 1 tab with luke warm water. 2. Shatavari capsules-1 cap twice before meals. 3. M2 Tone- 1tsp twice daily 4. Evanova capsules- 2 cap twice a day . Continue these medicines for 3 months. Regards.
