Triphala is probably the most popular Ayurvedic medicine in the world. As the term suggests, it is a combination of three very potential herbal fruits (tri –three and phala –fruits). This powerful combination of three Ayurvedic herbal fruits viz; Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) and Amla, an Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis) in equal proportion makes it a wonder formula that can be given in almost all health ailments. This medicine is available in various forms, Triphala churna (an extract’s powder), being the most popular for oral administration.
