Answered by Dr.Sony : Hello, Pushyanuga choorna is a classical ayurvedic medicine which is meant for healing menstrual disorders such as menorrhagia primarily. Its secondary actions include treating subserol fibroids. It can be taken at the time of conception and in first 3 months of pregnancy. Following which it shall be withdrawn and shall be resumed only after pregnancy. The chief ingredients present in this preparation is cyclea peltata, eugenia jambolana, aerua lanata and berberis aristata. It is ideally recommended to be taken at a dosage of 1 tsp twice or thrice daily with warm water or honey after food. Overdose of this medicine will interact with menstrual cycle. Hence this medication shall not be taken on self and shall be taken only under guidance of an ayurvedic physician.

Question: I am 32 years old and 10 weeks pregnant and have too much acidity problem. Because of acidity too much vomiting and severe stomach pain. Doctor's advised few tablets but nothing is working out. Somebody suggested about Lavan Bhaskar churna. Would like to know is it safe to take Lavan Bhaskar churan in pregnancy?

Answered by Dr.Jilsy : Hello, Thanks for your inquiry and congrats that you are pregnant. Lavana Bhaskar churna is a good medicine for acidity, gas trouble etc. But it is safe not to take during pregnancy. So you please dont take it. Instead you can take Divya Satavari churna-1/2 tsp twice daily with milk. When you wake up in morning take 1/2 glass water with 1 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp Amla juice(gooseberry). Whenever you feel acidity chew a piece of Jaggery or few almonds and eat it. Eat smaller meals with rice or easily digestible foods. Include cucumber, watermelon, banana, apple and almonds in diet. Avoid spicy foods and fried foods, brinjal, chillies, pickles and caffeines like tea and coffee should not be taken.Curd should be avoided at night. Continue this for 1 week and let me know the current condition. Thanks and regards.

Question: My two year son is dignosed for autism mainly because he leads by hand to things he wants instead communication He understads something ang imitates also.his delivery was scissorean. His mother did not have any problem during pregnancy. Is there any ayuervedic safe medicine for him?

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in first 3 years of life that affects the brain's normal function and development and affects social and communication skills. After identifying the root cause ultimate treatment would be behavioural therapy called Applied Behaviour Analysis or ABA, medications, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech and language therapy. As treatment goal is based on behavioural and occupational, and physical therapies etc., at ayurveda and alternative therapies point of view, necessary treatments can be given. In ayurveda, there are some internal and external treatments. As of now, it is better to follow allopath medicines and advice from allopath doctors, later on there may be good chances to improve the condition with ayurveda treatments etc. However, you can give some simple remedies that can be followed now such as application of VACHA churna with honey and VACHA churna should 3 pinches and 2 drops of honey. For more details, you can contact us. With regards, Dr.Vijay.

Question: Hi, I am a 26 year old, unmarried woman. Recently I went for an ultrasound test and my report suggests that I have two small, well defined, hypoechoic lesion in the anterior wall of the fundus(10.5mm) and body (14.8mm) of uterus in subserosal locations. Also the uterus is anteverted, bulky in size (8.34.44.2 cm)with lobulated outline and echotexture. Previously, when I had the ultrasound done in 2012, the report only mentioned about bulky uterus and there were no such fibroids. My doctor said (both the radiologist and the gynaecologist) said that there is nothing that can be done except "wait and watch" and only if the size increases, then we can move on to the next stage which I hope never comes. Also, I would like to mention this: 3-4 months back when I had my blood test my hemoglobin was low 9 and two months later it went to 11. Doctor also said that until I complete my family, it is risky to do anything to it and there are no medicines to dissolve or get rid of these uterine fibroids. My mom had full hysterectomy 2 years back and her fibroids were 4 kgs in weight. I am very worried because I am scared that they might grow in size and affect my fertility. I don't intend to settle down for 2 or 3 years and my doctor suggested that I should settle down and plan a family because I might have trouble with pregnancy if it gets late. I am very very worried and would like to know if there is anything that would help me get rid of these fibroids forever. I really hope there is a solution to this as well. Please help me. I am very very scared because my mom had also low hemoglobin in her earlier stages and when she had her operation done her fibroids were huge and I am scared that mine might increase in size as well. Please help me get rid of this.

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, With your detailed history given, I would suggest the same as your doctor has suggested. It is important that you need to take a decision on your family life as there is a strong positive history in your mother, it is better to proceed with proper care. So, you need to have a proper idea on other parameters like thyroid, and your body weight which has to be controlled properly and see that you have proper ovulation and if there are any issues with ovulation, it is better to correct that. I believe that you have regular periods. There are few ayurvedic medicines which are definitely helpful in reducing the size of fibroids and for which you need to get assessed by ayurvedic doctors properly. You can start consuming Ayurvedic medicines without any side effects and you can expect some positive results with those treatments. Even you need to follow strict diet which is helpful where you need to maintain low fat diet, and increase fiber rich food. following medicines like Package medicine for Fibroids fo uterus which has to be consumed accordingly in proper dosage and before that it is better you consult one ayurvedic consultant. You can practice all yoga and pranayama regularly if you are well aware otherwise you can even take training and start practicing yoga and pranayama.

Question: I am 46 and trying to conceive. My only problem is very low Amh and poor egg quality. All I need is one healthy mature egg to get pregnant. I have been taking about 7 Ayurvedic products from you for about 4 months to help with healthy menstruation/ovulation/pregnancy. Have not gotten pregnant yet. Just wanted to make sure I was taking the right products. Can you suggest all medicines I should be taking. Thank you

Answered by Dr.Ramani : The quality of the eggs depend on the age and it is very important to conceive. The quality of the egg starts to diminish at 30 and accelerates to diminish after mid 30's. But the following medicines are advised to improve the quality of the eggs. Medicines are usually prescribed based on the doshas and hence a combination of different medicines will be used in Ayurvedic medicines unlike in allopathy medicine with a single same medicine. Ayurvedic medicines Sukumara Kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Divya Stri Rasayan Vati and Divya Fal ghrit can be taken for 3months and then reviewed. Include black gram, sesame seeds, papaya, bottle gourd, sesame and figs. Avoid excess oil, canned foods, sugar, fat, salt and refined flour. Try to keep your weight under control which would be beneficial. Yogasanas like Marajaryasana, Bhujangasana, Gomukhasana, Matsyasana, Paschimottasana, Padahastasana, Dhanurasana, Uthithapadasana, Utkadasna, Janushirasana and Padahastasana are beneficial. Please do have regular checkups.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Ipill must be taken only when it is absolutely necesssary to avoid pregnancy. Asoka aristam - 20ml after food twice dail can be taken for a month and then reviewed. It will help to control the bleeding which may usually happen within a week as the pregnancy fails. In some there may be a delay in periods and it will regularise within 3months. Question: sir/madam, Age:31 Gender: female I got married in dec 15th 2011, but I have no childrens yet now, now we are planning for childrens, the main problem is white discharge, it is thicky, so many people said if white is discharging you cannot get pregnancy, is it real, i have seen a doctor she gave 12 tablets to use then it will control, then there is no itching problem to me, but there is acidity from one month. please give home remedies to cure.

Answered by Dr.Saurabh : Dear Madam, First of all don't take any stress of getting pregnant. Yes, White discharge is a big issue which may affect your reproductive system. Let's find the root cause first. If it is due to poor hygiene practices then please make the genitals area clean by properly washing it. If its not the reason then there is definitely some disorder with your digestion and absorption system. If you have excessive white discharge then according to ayurveda, the satva of your body is lacking and so you have to be careful and start some herbs right away. Please start with Divya Patrangasava as 20 ml with 20 ml water after all three meals and Femiplex tablets as two tablets twice daily with water before meals. Also you can take chaval ka maand (rice water) to take the tablets which will help in better recovery. tc Dr Saurabh
