Question: Sir, I Suresh Chandra Sahoo aged about 46 yrs and my two children aged about 21 & 19 years. Now we are suffering from sickle cell trait anemia. Due to this disease we are suffering a lot like painful in body and always the hemoglobin level is very law i.e. 8 to 9. Doctor advise to take only folic acid tablet. Please suggest me for better treatment from patanjali medicine.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Sickle cell anemia is an inherited disease acquired due to defective red blood cells. Anemia and body pain are the most common problems as the sickle shaped red blood cells reduce the flow of the blood causing severe pain in the specific areas. Anemia will also cause severe tiredness which may also hinder the daily activities. Ayurvedic medicines like Karumpirumbadi kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food, Divya Lohasava and Divya Kanchanar Guggulu can be taken for 3months and then reviewed. Include dates, jaggery, beet root, spinach, pomegranate, oranges and curryleaf. Avoid excess carbonated beverages oil, caffeine, sugar, salt, caffeine and refined flour. Practising Yogasanas like yoga nidra, padmasana, shavasana, Pranayamam and Meditation will be beneficial. Please consult your nearest doctor if the symptoms are severe.

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, Greetings from lovenaturalremedies.com, As you may aware that Aplastic anemia is a metabolic disorder, and there are many other causative factors which has to be analysed properly. Though, you mention that you are under treatment, along with that you may need to consume medications such as supplements like Vitamin B12, folic acid supplements. In order to improve metabolism, you may consume some herbal medicines or ayurvedic medicines along with other alternative therapies that include siddha, homeopathy, and other system of medicines. Question: Hello Doctor Vijay, My wife seems to be suffering from Anemia. She is 23 years old and thin. Doctor has diagnosed probable anemia in her. She has less quantity of hemoglobin. As your wife is suffering from possible anemia, it is better get assessed personally with doctor for other causes though I can answer your all questions. As anemia is a vast subject and has got many subdivisions, it is better to understand in simple way that for your first question, the symptoms of anemia is are easy fatigue, and pale appearance of the body, palpitations, short breath or breathing difficulty, and hair loss, and malaise and sometimes cardiac problems and the causes are a either is decrease in production of red blood cells or hemoglobin, or an increase in loss or destruction of red blood cells in the form of excessive bleeding during menstruation and complications as I mentioned there may be cardiac problems and there may be brain related problems due to hypoxia and as other important thing is when women are pregnant, hemoglobin demand raises and accordingly women have to be with supplements. There are simple natural remedies like consuming adequate green leafy vegetables, dates would help. Abhraloha which is good for her complaint. Please update her present health condition if any. Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, As your wife is suffering from anemia which is mainly due to your irregular menstruation and probably due to heavy menstrual flow and it is quite common in menstruating women. There are many methods to improve haemoglobin and in natural way, you can try to eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and plenty of fruits in your diet. Avoid consuming spicy foods, oily foods, and other foods which may aggravate some other factors which indirectly cause anemia. Avoid stress and anxiety which may also lead to the same problem. Following medicines are helpful for your condition such as Abhraloha, Punarnavadi Mandoor are good medicines to be consumed in this condition. Question: I have anemia and low iron in my blood. The quantity of red blood cells (RBC) have decreased and white blood cells (WBC) have increased. I feel very weak and thin. My complexion is yellowish. I have an itching sensation and feels dizzy. I have been also suffering from stomach and heat problems for a long time. My skin is lusterless, muscles are stiff, heartbeats increases and nerves system is weak. I also feel that I have lost appetite and feels nausea. Often, hands and legs are numb.

Answered by Dr.Ravinder : Anemia is very common in females. Anemia means low hemoglobin level. In other words the low level of red blood cells or RBCs in blood is called anemia. Anemia is caused by many reasons. The most common signs and symptoms of anemia are pallor or pale yellow coloration of skin, general body weakness, unexplained pains in legs and body, breathlessness, tachycardia, restlessness and many more. In allopathic medicines generally folic acid, ferrous and vitamins are given to help in increasing hemoglobin level. As in Ayurveda we recommend you to start with divya swarn makshik bhasma and divya loki juice together twice a day after meals. These medicines can be taken along with allopathic medicines and are good for increasing RBCs. These are also great general health boosters. Question: My father is 71yrs,just detected by aplastic anemia. His iron level is so high. So can you advice so some treatment,food or medican.

Answered by YogaGuru : Bone marrow does not produce sufficient new cells. Aplastic anaemia pateints have low platelet count,low RBC and low WBC count. The ultimate option is bone marrow transplantation. Only those who received bone marrow graft from siblings have better chance of survival. Answered by Dr.Sony : Hellow, Aplastic anaemia is not an easy task in ayurveda. However all efforts can be made from the side of ayurveda and has found to save life of many.Here i suggest you certain home remedies and medicines for aplastic anameia. Tumbe and tulsi are two herbs found very useful for this condition. Mix a teaspoon of extract from both these plant leaves and have it 2 tsp twice or thrice daily before food. Lohasavam - 30 ml thrice daily after food Ayaskrithi - 15 ml with equal amount of water. Drakshadi lehyam - 1 tsp twice daily after food. Follow these for 1 month and take lab report.Based on the report, further treatment shall be suggested


Question: Swami ji namaskar. My father has cancer. Diagnoisis:- Caecal mitosis,Dimorphic anemia,hypthyrodism,Right Hydrocoele. Operation:- Right hemicolectomy with side to side ileo-transverse anastomosis on 14-04-2014 in Sir ganga Ram hospital, Delhi Doctor has called us for chemotherapy after 1 month of operation but we have not gone for chemotherapy session because my father has less hemoglobin and low growth. Before operation he got loose motions and his hemoglobin reduced to 3 and then we took him to Delhi. Please guide us and tell us what to do.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Caecum is a pouch in the beginning of the largeintestine. If there was bleeding, it could also be the cause for anemia. Dimorphous anemia means due to the lack of iron and vitamin B12. So as your father's heamoglobin was very low, it must be checked again and that which is less than 6g/dl is severe anemia and may require blood transfusion as it will act quickly than the medicines. Adjuvant therapies like chemotherapy and radiation will be advised based on the grade of the cancer and the nature of the cancer cells. So please follow the doctor's advise and your father needs regular checkups and treatments. Medicines like Divya Lohasava and Punarnavadi Mandoor can be given to improve the haemoglobin. Try to give beet root, spinach, jaggery, pomegranate, lentils, drumstick leaves, dal in the diet. Please do have regular checkups and therapies.


Question: What are the causes of Anemia?

Answered by YogaGuru : There are many possible causes like medications, chronic diseases like cancer, colitis, arthritis, kidney failure etc. If there is blood loss due to menstruation, anal bleeding etc may also lead to anemia. Other causes like in pregnancy, and poor diet, there may be chances of anemia. If there is lymphoma, leukemia, or myeloma where bone marrow is involved, chances of anemia is possible. In many individuals for those who have hypothyroidism may also suffer from anemia.
