Ayurvedic / Herbal Advice For Teeth related problems

Question: sir, I'm suffering stomach issues from 3yrs the problem is that my mouth stings even though I brush my teeths twice I visited dental clinics many a time but they said me its ur stomach problem that stings your mouth so please help me out with medicine which is correct for my stomach. My age is 23

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Halitosis is the bad odor from the mouth that is seen commonly with improper digestion and poor oral hygiene. The bacteria present in the tongue causes a thick coating which emanates the bad smell especially if there is residual food particles after eating. So rinsing mouth after eating helps if there are no other systemic causes. Ayurvedic medicines like Panchasava and Divya Ajamodadi Churna can be used for a month and then reviewed. Divya Dant Kanti Tooth paste can be used instead of normal tooth paste and the normal mouth washes also helps. Include fig, yam, prunes, raisins, fiber, carrots, pine apples and cucumber. Avoid excess teas, coffee, sweets, salt, refined flour and oil. Yogasanas like Padmasana, Vajrasana, Pavanamuktasana, Trikonasana, Halasana and Bhujangasana are beneficial.

Please do help me. I am loosing hope and confidence.

Answered by Dr.George : Dear friend, Bad breath means unpleasent smell in your breath when you speak out or breath out. It is a common problem. Usually the problem is with the teeth and gums. As of you it is perfect with your teeth and gums. The other possibility is with a polyp in the nose or a chronic sinusitis. Find yourself whether you are having such a problem. There is a condition called fish odour syndrome which is also most uncommon. Fishy smell in the breath. That too find yourself and discuss with your physician. It is due to the inability of body to disintegrate trimethylamine which is present in certain food stuffs. I suggest you to take kalyana gulam lehyam one spoon at night time and over that half a glass of warm water. continue it for 15 days. Avoid late night dinner and sleeping immedietly after dinner. Regards Dr George .
